The most beautiful thing about music is its unique versatility. Anna sees it as an inexhaustible source of inspiration. She puts the music in the foreground and is always on the lookout for new timbres. She is committed to the realisation and implementation of various projects and appreciates being a part of exciting and varied projects.
In the process of developing her final project (2021), she dealt with works that are rarely heard on stage. The focus was to be particularly on the music of female composers of the Impressionist and Romantic periods, which resulted in a varied programme. She decided to continue this work in order to get to know even more «forgotten music» by female composers as well as male composers and to bring it closer to the audience again.
Here is a little insight into her final project. Her long-time friend and duo partner Shih-Yu Tang plays the piano.
«We sit on Columbus' shoulders and look out to sea. Longing for the distant, the unknown; wild animals and long nights on open deck. The stars shine brightly. The moon shows us the way through the dark blue. Cádiz is a plea for romance. Because some cheesiness is good for you.»
Current album «unpolished» (2020) available on request.
In Rolf Lyssy's latest film, which premiered at the 2020 Zurich Film Festival, Anna can be heard in the main theme song.
«Luumu are stories wrapped in songs. They sing a socially critical fairy tale, they preach criticism of world events wrapped in magic sounds. Fragile and melancholic, they tell stories from life. Luumu combine spherical jazz with dark indie folk and contemporary Scandinavian soundscapes with subtle recourse to music from the present and the past. Luumu make film music for the head cinema: narrative, playful, floating, magical and fairytale-like.»
The 3rd album, Elephant Love Song, will follow in 2023 on TOURBOmusic.
