At the age of four, Anna Jeger received her first cello lesson. A short time later she began her musical education at the Basel Musikakademie, where she was accepted into the talent promotion class at the age of ten. After completing her Matura, she began her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts. This was followed by the successful completion of a Bachelor of Arts in the class of Roel Dieltiens. Two years later, she completed the Master of Arts in Pedagogy with distinction in the class of Thomas Grossenbacher. Since September 2021, the cellist has been studying for a Master of Arts in Performance at the Haute École de Musique Genève in the class of Ophélie Gaillard.
At the age of ten, she won the 1st prize for the first time at the Swiss Youth Music Competition at national level. In the following years, she won further prizes in various chamber music formations. In 2015, she received the "Azeiger" cultural sponsorship award. In 2018, concerts followed in Paris and together with the cello class of Roel Dieltiens at the Cello Biennale Amsterdam. Jeger became a Zackzowski Foundation scholarship holder in 2020 and served as an intern in the Biel/Solothurn Symphony Orchestra. In spring 2022 Anna Jeger was awarded the sponsorship award music 2022 of the Canton of Solothurn. In the season 22/23 Jeger is playing with the Musikkollegium Winterthur as an intern. She attended master classes with internationally renowned cellists such as W. Boettcher, J. Goritzki, Ph. Müller, T.Svane, R. Wallfisch and M. Perényi.
She is committed to the realization of her solo and chamber music projects as well as bringing new program formats to the stage. In doing so, she also places special emphasis on lesser-known works by female and male composers.
She plays on a Scottish cello by David Stirrat from 1814.
